Ed HealeyVice President of Construction and Maintenance
Ed Healey is the Vice President of Construction & Maintenance for Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. Since joining the organization in 1993, he has been involved in the expansion of its programs and responsible for the direction and training of the maintenance crew. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley owns and operates 38 facilities in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. Ed oversees the general operational and safety conditions of each building, which range in size from a one-story, ranch-style homeless shelter that houses 58 to a four-story building that houses 170 clients. Ed is also responsible for general contracting on construction projects that range from major renovations to full ground-up construction, reviewing and revising prints and drawings, negotiating the bidding process, and personally directing and managing construction through completion as normal procedure. Ed deals directly with all city and state inspection officials to ensure the organization receives all pertinent inspections and certificates. Ed has raised the bar on Volunteers of America Delaware Valley’s standards for building construction and maintenance and has built a department that is one of the best in the country. Ed is a father of four and a grandfather of nine. He has many interests that include boating and fishing and has been a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain since 1986. |
