SPRING IN BLOOM AT ESCHER STREET

Our services at Escher Street program in Trenton, NJ kicked off its first annual gardening event on May 1.

The goal of “May Pole Day” was to stimulate creativity, so residents were asked to recite poetry or tell a story with a theme of ‘rebirth.’ One resident wrote a skit about how a woman’s life changed after she decided to stop taking medication for depression.

Following a meal of hot dogs and hamburgers, residents enjoyed a ceremony around the May Pole. Plants were handed out by our “Garden Fairy” to start the new spring season.

Certificates also were awarded to residents who have shown great progress during the year.
